Jackson Heights FCCLA's Fall Festival: Spooky Fun for a Great Cause!

October 28, 2023

On a chilly October day, the Jackson Heights High School commons was transformed into a magical hub of laughter and excitement, thanks to the exceptional efforts of Madison Lawson and Emma Sides, who organized a memorable Fall Festival. Although the weather tried to rain on our parade, Madison and Emma, along with their team, made a quick decision to move the festivities indoors, turning what could have been a soggy day into a cozy indoor event.

This fantastic festival, hosted by the Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), offered a wide array of thrilling games and attractions that brought smiles to faces of all ages. Attendees could try their hand at Face Carving (face painting), a ghoulish game of Flying Ghosts, test their luck in Pumpkin Tik Tak Toe, aim for success at Ghoulish Ringtoss, venture into the spooky Fearzone Maze, take a shot at Ghost Blast, and aim for a bullseye in the Zombie Eyeball Toss. For those with a sweet tooth, the Pumpkin Pop was a delightful challenge, and the lively Cake Walk had participants dancing with joy.

Yet, the Fall Festival was more than just an afternoon of spooky fun. All the funds raised during the event are going to support diabetes research. The FCCLA's commitment to giving back to the community by contributing to vital research is both heartwarming and inspiring.

However, the fun isn't over just yet! Due to the rain that interrupted our original plans, the much-anticipated Haunted Trail has been rescheduled to next Saturday, November 4th, at 7 PM. Don't miss out on this spine-tingling adventure that's sure to be a hit with those who love a good scare!

Kudos to Madison Lawson, Emma Sides, and the entire FCCLA team for their dedication and hard work in creating a memorable event. Their ability to adapt to unexpected weather conditions and still deliver an enjoyable experience is commendable.

The Fall Festival was not just about fun games and activities; it was about a community coming together to support a crucial cause and create lasting memories. We thank all who attended and made this event a success.

We look forward to more exciting initiatives and events from FCCLA and to continuing our commitment to making a positive impact in our community. Stay tuned for future events and join us next Saturday for the Haunted Trail – it's bound to be a thrilling night you won't forget!
