Land Transfer Mediations December 5th and 6th

I would like to provide the necessary information about an upcoming mediation process that involves land transfer disputes between school districts, specifically the mediation between USD 335, USD 115, USD 380, and USD 113 Prairie Hills.

Kansas law includes a provision for mediating land transfer disputes between school districts. When requested, the Kansas State Board of Education appoints a mediator to facilitate discussions and negotiations, aiming for a fair and amicable resolution between districts. This process is designed to address concerns related to school district boundaries and ensure that they accurately reflect the current educational landscape.

In our case, USD 335 North Jackson, USD 115 Nemaha Central, and USD 380 Vermillion have jointly requested mediation with USD 113 Prairie Hills. The objective is to reach a consensus on the redistribution of land that aligns with current school enrollment trends and ensures equitable resource allocation among the involved districts.

The mediation sessions are scheduled for December 5th and 6th, during which representatives from each district will engage in discussions facilitated by the appointed mediator. This process allows for a comprehensive exploration of the concerns and interests of all parties involved.

We understand the importance of this matter and the potential impact on our community. Please don't worry. We are committed to keeping you informed throughout this process and will provide updates as they become available.
