Jerilyn Nelson, now a distinguished alumna of Kansas State University (K-State), was nominated for this honor by faculty from K-State's College of Agriculture. As a former College of Agriculture ambassador, Jerilyn's connection to her alma mater runs deep, and her selection for this award underscores her outstanding achievements and contributions.
In selecting Mr. Lierz for this prestigious award, Jerilyn reflected on the profound influence he had on her development as a young person. "FFA was always a huge part of my life, and when they said I could give this award, I said to myself, Mr. Lierz, there is no question," Jerilyn shared. "He was a huge part of my development as a young person. There is no better fit for the award."

In recognition of Mr. Lierz's exceptional contributions, he will also have the honor of awarding a $1000 scholarship in his name to a current senior at Jackson Heights High School who plans on attending Kansas State University.
