Cobra Cup 3rd Quarter Games: Fostering Collaboration and Fun

Today, Jackson Heights witnessed an electrifying event as part of our ongoing First Friday initiative: the Cobra Cup 3rd Quarter Games. First Friday events are a cornerstone of our school culture, serving to promote teamwork and collaboration among staff members while providing students with exciting opportunities for engagement. While they usually involve community outreach projects, or assemblies, once per quarter, the First Friday takes on a special dimension with the Cobra Cup House Games, and this time, it was hosted by House Triple G.

The theme for this quarter's House Games was "race," and students from each house eagerly participated in a series of nine exhilarating races. From the Hula Hoop Brigade to the Balloon Caterpillar, each race presented unique challenges that put students' teamwork and communication skills to the test. As they cheered each other on and worked together to overcome obstacles, laughter and camaraderie filled the air.

When the final results were tallied, the Corn Fed Cobras emerged as the frontrunners with an impressive four wins. Following closely behind were Gold Rush with three wins, while Triple G secured two victories. Although the Snake Kingz didn't clinch a win this time, their spirit and determination were commendable.

Ultimately, the 3rd Quarter House Games crown went to House Triple G, celebrating their overall victory and exemplary teamwork. The atmosphere was electric as students celebrated their achievements and reflected on the bonds forged during the competition.

Looking ahead, we have more exciting House Games on the horizon. The House Olympics, slated for late April and hosted by House Gold Rush, promises to be another thrilling event filled with friendly competition and teamwork. Additionally, our next First Friday event will feature a joint endeavor with the Holton Hospital: the "Blueprint for a Better Tomorrow" event. Scheduled for April 3rd, this event will see the community taking over the school for a day, with students participating in 12 breakout sessions focused on shaping a brighter future.

As we celebrate the success of today's Cobra Cup 3rd Quarter Games, let us continue to embrace the spirit of collaboration and unity that defines our school community. Together, we can achieve greatness and create lasting memories. Go Cobras!
