Breaking Records: Jackson Heights High School 4X100 Meter Relay Team Shines

We are thrilled to announce a remarkable achievement by our very own Jackson Heights High School 4X100 meter relay team at the recent McLouth High School Track meet held on Friday, April 5th. The team comprising Kyson Proffitt, Landon Gouge, Austin Zeller, and Drake Mellies made history by breaking the longstanding record in this event.

Their outstanding performance marked their first time running the 4X100 meter relay in competition together, yet they managed to clock an impressive time of 44.53 seconds. This remarkable achievement shattered the previous record of 45.1 seconds set back in 2006 by the team of Hill, Wareham, Hufford, and Arnold.

The dedication, teamwork, and relentless effort of our athletes were truly evident in this historic feat. Breaking a long-standing record on their first attempt together speaks volumes about their talent, commitment, and potential. As a school, we are immensely proud of their accomplishments and look forward to witnessing more remarkable performances from this exceptional team throughout the year.

With this record-breaking start, we are excited about the prospects of our 4X100 meter relay team and are confident that they will continue to push their limits, set new records, and make us proud in every competition they participate in. Congratulations to Kyson Proffitt, Landon Gouge, Austin Zeller, and Drake Mellies on their phenomenal achievement, and we wish them continued success in their future endeavors on the track.
