August SOTM

Jackson Heights High School is pleased to recognize Madison Lawson and Austin Zeller as August’s Seniors of the Month.

Throughout high school, Madison Lawson has participated in cheer, FCCLA, Pep Club, FBLA, STUCO, Student-Board Liaison, JCYC, Cobra Mentors, 4-H, Volleyball, and serves as the Kansas State Vice President for FCCLA. Madison enjoys shopping and spending money, which she says are her hobbies.

When asked about her biggest achievement to date, Madison said, “My biggest achievement in high school is most likely becoming the Kansas State FCCLA Vice President. It makes you step out of your comfort zone and has already taught me so much.” Madison plans on continuing her education at K-State, where she will major in neuroscience and biochemistry. Her goal is to become a psychiatrist.

Austin Zeller has been an active participant in football, basketball, baseball, track, and the trap shooting team. He is also a proud member of the National Honor Society. When Austin is not busy with his varied extracurricular activities, he enjoys playing video games, working out, and golfing.

If he were able to go back and talk to his freshman self, Austin would tell him to “Enjoy the little moments, because in the end those are the ones you will miss the most.” After high school, Austin hopes to play college-level football at a university with a professional flight program.

Congratulations to Madison and Austin on their achievements, involvement, and contributions to the Cobra community.
