Jackson Heights High School is pleased to recognize three seniors for the month of August: Paden Askren, Grant Bales, and Brody Browning.
When asked to recall a favorite memory from his time at Jackson Heights, Askren thought back on a time in Ag, “when the welder caught on fire in the ag shop and we had to put the fire out.” Throughout high school, Askren has foregone involvement in traditional school activities, instead forging his own path by participating in High School Rodeo. After graduation, he plans to continue to rodeo in college, where he will work toward earning a degree in farm and ranch management.
During high school, Bales has been active in Cross Country, Track, and Journalism. “Grant is currently in his second year of Journalism and has been such an incredible asset to the program. He brings a great deal of creativity and dedication to the staff, and just has a really phenomenal work ethic,” said Journalism teacher, Sarah Cormier. After high school, Bales plans on entering the workforce.
Throughout Browning’s high school career, he has participated in Powerlifting, Football, Basketball, Track, FBLA, Journalism, and the school play. When asked what he would consider his biggest accomplishment in high school, Browning said, “getting first in powerlifting.” After high school, Browning plans on going into an apprenticeship.
