October

Jackson Heights High School is pleased to recognize seniors, Teagan Hackathorn, Lakota Hewitt, and Tryston Honeyman, in the month of October.

When asked about his favorite high school memory, Hackathorn couldn’t settle on just one, opting to include “every PE class I’ve ever taken.” He also says he believes his biggest high school accomplishment is still yet to come. After high school, Hackathorn plans to work and become an Automotive Mechanic. His advice to underclassmen is to not be lazy and actually do your work instead of wasting your time.

Throughout her high school years, Hewitt was involved in FFA, Stuco, Volleyball, Cross Country, Basketball, and Cheer. She was also a member of the 2026 Homecoming Court. Hewitt considers her biggest accomplishment to be having worked hard enough in sports to get where she is today. After high school, Hewitt plans to go to McPherson College to play basketball and study Sports Psychology. Her advice to underclassmen is to always be yourself and don't listen to what other people say about you.

Honeyman says his favorite memory at Jackson Heights has been making friends with the people around him. Throughout high school, he has been very active in Esports. Honeyman’s biggest accomplishment, according to him, was the 2A Overwatch Esports State Championship. After high school, he plans to one day become the owner of a restaurant. His advice to underclassmen is to focus on “getting out there and having some fun.”
