Volunteers don't need to do anything except show up to read. If you have already signed up and want to know what book you will be reading, email dani.alley@jhcobras.net. Kiddos would love for some props, dressing up, acting, or whatever creative thing you want to do!

Check out this exciting message from our friends at United Way of Kaw Valley and FOBBL:
We are excited to welcome the Junior Leader Reader (JLR) program back to Jackson County. JLR is an initiative of United Way of Kaw Valley’s Young Leaders Society (YLS), focused on enriching early education through classroom readings and book distribution to elementary students.
FOBBL (Friends of Beck Bookman Library) is once again partnering with United Way of Kaw Valley to bring the JLR program to life. This year, we are proud to expand the JLR program to all Jackson County schools. Every child at Holton Elementary School, Jackson Heights Elementary School, and Royal Valley Elementary School (PreK-5) will be given one free book and the opportunity to hear the book read in their classroom from a volunteer community member.
In honor of National Library Week, (Sun, Apr 6, 2025 – Sat, Apr 12, 2025) community members will be invited to participate in the JLR program, Mon, Apr 7- Thurs, Apr 10. By simply following the link below, volunteers can sign up for a time slot of their choice. All materials will be ready for distribution when volunteers arrive at the elementary school of their choice. This volunteer opportunity will last 20-25 minutes.

This link has all three schools listed, so make sure you search for Jackson Heights and the grade level you wish to read with.
Thank you in advance for supporting our Jackson County youth,
